Despite the snow falling, we will still have practice this afternoon.  Please plan to pick your child up at 3:30 seeing that we will be running in the halls this afternoon!

Track team members should complete a WOYO this weekend.  A WOYO stands for a Work-out On Your Own.  A WOYO can be a soccer game/practice, a Lax game/practice or a 20 minute jog around your neighborhood.  This is an important workout for team members so they can loosen up their legs after a week of practice.  Please remind your child to stretch before their workout and to do their warm-up drills that we have been working on this week prior to their work-out.

We will not be practicing at the high school on Monday.  Practice will take place at WMS and should be finished between 3:30 and 3:45.

Day 2:

Although the conditions were not great, we did manage to get outside and complete a workout.  All team members worked hard today and should be a little sore tomorrow morning!  We have a day off tomorrow and will be back at it on Thursday.  Please plan on being outside for practice.  Be sure to have warm clothing as the temperature is expected to be in the upper 40's.

First day of practice:

We had a very good practice today and it was fun getting to know everyone.  We have about 90 kids participating in our track program and they were all filled with excitement during practice.  We are hoping to hold practice outdoors tomorrow rather than run through the halls of WMS like we did today!  Seeing that cool and damp weather is in the forecast, please make sure your son/daughter has warm clothes for tomorrow.

WELCOME TO THE WMS TRACK TEAM!

The 2017 Spring Track season is scheduled to begin on Monday, March 27th.  Once the season begins, practices will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 2:30-4:00.  We offer all types of running events including the mile, 100 meter dash, 800 meter, 400 meter, 200 meter and two relays (4x100 and 4x400).   In addition, we also have the high jump, long jump and shot put.  


Our track meet schedule will soon be posted.  We are still working out a few details.  Another post will follow once the schedule is finalized.

Along the side of the blog you will find a link for the monthly schedule for our season.  Again, this will be updated once our meet schedule is finalized.  There will be another post once everything is in place in a week or so.

In order to be a member of the spring track team, you must register and pay the user fee.  There are links to the registration page in the "registration" tab along side of the blog.  We are looking forward to a great Spring Track Season.  See you at the track!

ALL TRACK TEAM MEMBERS ATTEND, PARTICIPATE AND CHEER ON THEIR TEAMMATES AT OUR MEETS.
