Spring Track Weekly Update...
Happy Mother's Day to all of the track moms out there! We hope you had a great day!
Here is the schedule for the week:
Monday - Home meet against Blanchard (Westford). The meet will take place at Wayland High School and hopefully will begin around 3:30.
Tuesday - Practice at the middle school from 2:30-3:45
Thursday - Away meet against Acton. This meet takes place at the Acton-Boxboro High School track. We will be transported by bus from WMS to Acton and will be brought home at the conclusion of the meet. The buses should return to WMS around 6:00.
Friday - Practice at the middle school from 2:30-3:45.

Spring Track Weekly Update
We hope everyone had a nice weekend. Here is the schedule for the week (it is a busy one).
Monday - Away meet against Diamond MS (Lexington) at Lexington High School. The meet should begin around 3:30. We will be leaving WMS at 2:30 on 2 buses (girls bus and boys bus). The team buses will transport us to Lexington and then we will return to WMS on the buses at the conclusion of the meet. Our approximate return time will be between 5:45 and 6:00. Please understand that the return time is just an approximation. It is challenging to be precise due to traffic on 128. If you plan on picking up your child at the meet in Lexington, please be sure to bring in a note to the coaches explaining your pick-up plan or send an email.

Thursday - Home meet against Billerica. The meet is scheduled to begin at 3:30 but as we saw last week, it depends on the time that our opponent arrives.
Friday - Practice at WMS from 2:30-3:45.

A few changes for the rest of the week...
Our meet for Thursday against Sudbury has been postponed due to a field trip that the Sudbury students will be attending. In place of the meet on Thursday we would like to hold the first "Warrior Invitational" at the high school from 2:45-4:00. This will be an intra-squad scrimmage with official times. We will run this event as if it were a meet and hope that our athletes will gain a little meet experience by taking part. Families are welcome to cheer us on. The order of events will remain the same as our regular meets:
Team members are encouraged to wear their uniform to the "Warrior Invitational"!!!! Thanks for understanding about the change in plans. We will let you know ASAP about the rescheduled meet against Sudbury. Hope to see you at the high school on Thursday to cheer us on!

Welcome Back! We hope everyone had a great April Vacation. Here is our schedule for the week. It is a busy one with important information.
Monday - Practice at WMS from 2:30-3:45.
Tuesday - Practice at Wayland High School from 2:30-4:00. Pick up will be at the high school at 4:00. Athletes will board one of the first round of buses immediately after school and will be transported to the high school for practice. Coaches will meet the team at the high school and then will begin practice. We will not be transported back to WMS at the conclusion of the practice. PICK-UP YOUR CHILD AT THE HIGH SCHOO AT 4:00.
Thursday - First meet of the season against Sudbury. This meet takes place at the Lincoln-Sudbury High School Track around 3:30. All team members will be transported to and from the meet on our team buses. The team buses will leave WMS at 2:40 and we should be back to WMS around 5:30. Please pick up your child at the middle school. If you are planning on attending the meet and want to drive your child home, please bring in a note to one of the coaches stating your "pick-up" plan. Due to a town policy, we are not allowed to approve a "pick-up" without a written note or email. Thanks in advance for your cooperation with this.
Seeing that this is the first meet for many of our athletes and families, please keep reading to hear the details...

**Just like other sports/teams that you have been a part of, track team members do not leave the meet until the conclusion of all the events. Team members are expected to encourage their teammates as they compete. It is this team support that really brings the middle school track team together.

**It is our expectation that team members will be wearing the team uniform while competing in a meet. If your child needs to order a uniform, please bring in a check for $11.oo made payable to Wayland Boosters. The check should be given to Coach Farley and then a uniform will be handed out. These uniforms do not need to be returned. If you have any questions, please let us know.
**Finally, in order to compete in the track meet, families must pay the user-fee. Once you click on the link below, please enter Wayland Public Schools - Athletic Program in the search menu to begin the process. Here is the link to complete the payment. Please make this payment so your child can participate on Thursday!!!

Uniform Update
Our team uniforms have been delivered to school. These are the same uniforms that we have used for the past few seasons for both XC and Spring Track. If your child already has one, there is no need to purchase another uniform. If your child needs to order a uniform, please bring in a check for $11.oo made payable to Wayland Boosters. The check should be given to Coach Farley and then a uniform will be handed out. These uniforms do not need to be returned. If you have any questions, please let us know.
